Lineage II Collector’s Edition
Limited Collector’s Edition box packaging for the MMORPG Lineage II from NCsoft.
This design for the European only collector’s edition version of this title was an exercise in minimalism. With a wealth of available artwork, and a free rein on using whatever materials, inks and printing processes available, I produced this clean, minimal and ultimately desirable rigid box, which uses only the games logo on its front and sides, relegating all other information to the rear or base of the box. It uses two different metallic inks, one for the box material and the other for the logos, with a spot UV varnish applied across the box lid in the pattern of a Phoenix. The base of the box was printed in full colour to really show off the artwork and screenshots to its fullest. From concept to production, I was solely responsible for the design of both this box and all its contents, all of which continued the minimal, desirable feel of the outer packaging, creating a complete, coherent package.
