Lineage II Art Book
Art book for inclusion in the Collector’s Edition box for the MMORPG Lineage II from NCsoft.
Following the minimal and desirable design concept used in the outer packaging for this European only collector’s edition, I created the sleeve design for this art book which, like the outer box, uses two metallic inks and a spot UV varnish. Reducing the character illustration back to black and white, then colour toning it using a selenium tone effect I blended the image into the metallic ink background of the cover and placed the logo and other textual elements in the second metallic colour. On production the cover then had a UV varnish applied to the front in the pattern of one of the symbols used to denote the race of the character in the illustration.
